Yesterday I decorated some cupcakes for a bridal shower that my friend Shelly was hosting. Since the theme color was pink and white so I decided to decorate the cupcakes using these colors. I tried to do two-tone roses (creamy yellow in the center of the flowers and turning pink toward outer edges– with strip of dark pink on the edges of the petals) but it didn’t work out nicely 😦 … So I gave up on the yellow and pink strip on the edge– just had pure pink roses instead.
I first based coated the cupcakes in pale pink then did a cluster of 3 roses (in brighter pink color) on top of each. Thought about adding leaves but let go because I think it will look too busy. I chose a white bead border because it always reminds me of lovely pearls– which is commonly used in a wedding. I really like the bead border– it certainly added a nice touch to the cakes and made them look complete. Thanks Shelly for giving me a chance to practice rose decorating. Although it took quite a while but I enjoyed making them pretty!
