I am taking cake decorating class and here it is– my first decorated cake. Not bad huh don’t you think?
I like the class a lot. There are only 4 students including myself and the instructor is very nice. She answers to all questions and tells us lots of tips and tricks on cake decorating. During the last class I learned about using tip #3 for writing on the cake, crazy strings along the top edge, tiny flowers and vines. Tip #16 for stars (small stars for filling up areas or big stars for edge covering), flowers and cake bottom covering (up and down motion). One more interesting thing learned: transferring pictures/drawings from paper to the cake– this really comes in handy when decorating cakes for the kids. I can’t wait to make a Thomas cake for Alexander!
Tomorrow is my 3rd session and we are going to make some roses and other stuff. Oh, I can’t wait… it’s so much fun! Come back to my blog to check it out… I’ll show you my 2nd finished cake.

Hi! Your blog is great and the cakes are beauuutiful! Wondering where you’re located because I’m very interested in setting up a cake-decorating class for a group of us at work. Any thoughts?
Thanks Hanna for your comment. I’m located in San Francisco Bay Area. There’re some resources to check out for cake decorating class like adult educational programs offered by city and college and also by Wilton (you can find out more about Wilton class from Michael’s). Good luck and come visit often!
